nitty griddy

today is all about the grid, but first...i've decided to put up a daily color palette, and to reflect the awesome spring weather that has blessed my first week of commuting, the first one is rightfully titled rainy day.

really my first day of exposure to the grid. after checking out Khoi Vinh (design director of nytimes.com, that has a noticeably inviting homepage for the amount of info that is on the site) & Mark Boultons's article titled "Grids are Good", I have a lot more respect for what is thrown together on the web.

12 seems to be the magic number- easily divided into odds and evens. so it will be that i will learn to live by the grid so i can master it enough to destroy the grid.

check out Khoi Vinh's site www.subtraction.com for more info on the o-so-intimidating design grid.
